Website Ideas
As I begin my role of MoneyStance Community Manager, I thought I would begin by republish an article I had written a while back that may inspire your creativitiy.
When choosing a website topic for making money online, keep an open mind and ensure the subject matter is of interest to you. Website ideas should come from something of passion which you will enjoy working on. If your website topic is just created around making money with no heart; the design, readability, and quality of the site will suffer. To find the perfect website idea, I suggest looking at your hobbies and evaluating the potential to translate your experience online.
Another avenue for finding the perfect website topic is to scan your personal expertise in a given subject. For instance, I work in computer security and created an Information Security Blog. Other roads for the best website idea could simply come from sports, pets, your job, family, or random areas of interest. Here's a list to being the brainstorming session:
Hobbies - fishing, hunting, crafts, collectibles, any sport really
Job expertise - carpentry, computers, medical, financial, parenting
Fan sites - music, movies, people, books, games
Family - baby safety tips, wedding info
Personal - blog, weight loss, body building, mental health
Other - travel, cooking, art, religious, cultural, current fad, old school papers, other person's expertise, local service or directory
If you can, find a niche website idea whose market isn't overrun with redundant web info. If you're having trouble finding a topic, maybe one of your friends or a family member has an expertise you can market for them. My brother has been developing an online photo editor that I may launch once it is finished. Look with an open eye, maybe even stroll around the house seeking for something that sparks your interest which may be a unique website idea.
